Eagle Requirement Camp is a special Scout camp focusing on advancement in all of the required badges for Eagle. Scouts who complete the perquisites for such merit badges as Personal Management, Family Life, etc, can earn several badges in the week.

As the focus of the camp is advancement, numerous opportunities exist for free-time fun and enjoyment such as archery, shooting sports, field sports, and more. The staff will include veteran Scouters with extensive experience as merit badge counselors in these subjects.

Session is limited to 20 participants. Acceptance to the camp will be on a first come first serve basis with priority given to older Scouts, a waiting list will be taken.

A mandatory orientation meeting on SATURDAY, MAY 11, 2013 at 10 am will be held at the YLTC in San Leandro. At this meeting participants will get the chance to meet the staff and receive important regarding their week at camp.

 

Prerequisites (Completed 8th grade/age14 and Star/Life)

 

Please purchase and read the merit badge book before bringing to camp.

Bring Blue Card for each Merit Badge to camp, signed by your Scoutmaster and dated.

Before camp scouts will need to complete the following requirements or provide the following materials to complete these Merit Badges at Eagle Requirement Camp. In order to complete those badges requiring 90 days or 13 weeks of documentation scouts should have started the documentation in the last week of March.

Citizenship in the Community

Req. #2: bring a MAP of your community and a chart of your local or state government. Req. #3: attend meeting and bring evidence of completion. Req. #5: watch appropriate movie and bring permission slip of parental approval. Req. #7: bring evidence of completion of service hours & research on organization. Req. #8: Be prepared to give your public presentation in camp. (Digital cameras, posters, speeches w/illustrations and photos work very well).

 

Citizenship in the Nation

Req. #2: Choose two, be prepared to discuss by taking tours or obtaining materials. Req. #3: Bring 5 days of a major daily newspaper in order to cover a national issue and be prepared to discuss. Req. #6: Come prepared with a copy of the speech you will discuss. Req. #8: send letter to congressman, bring a copy to camp.

 

Citizenship in the World

Req. #7: be prepared to discuss Req. 7 with counselor (depending on which two you choose to do).

 

Communications

Req. #3: A five minute speech.  Have you prepared one or chosen a topic?  You may do this in camp and you will give the speech during one of our sessions. Req. #4: An interview.  Have you interviewed someone? Are you prepared to share that interview in a MB session?  If not, you may choose to interview a staff member at camp. You must show evidence of this preparation in written form. Req. #5: Did you attend a public meeting? Bring proof of your attendance (an agenda from the meeting or a report on line or minutes from the meeting) and bring your notes for your report on the topics covered. Req. #7:, 7b and 7c requires photos which you need to bring to camp or start the web page development to access from camp. Req. #8: MC a Court of Honor or a Campfire program. Bring evidence of completion. (Court of Honor program or completed campfire program planner).

 

Family Life

Req. #3: Bring evidence of completion and your 90 day family duty/chore log. Req. #4: Bring evidence of completion of family project w/signatures & your report. Req. #5: Bring evidence of completion of personal project w/signatures & your report. Req. #6: Bring evidence of completion of family meetings.

 

Personal Fitness

Req. #1: (a) Bring a copy of your most recent physical exam. (b) Bring proof of your recent dental exam and the statement from your dentist.  Req. #6: Bring evidence of completion. Req. #7: Bring evidence of completion and your outline. Req. #8: Bring evidence of completion and your 12-week log and your pre-program and post-program results. Req. #9: Be prepared to discuss item #9 in camp; bring the required info about your chosen field to camp.

 

Personal Management

Req. #1: Have family discussion, bring your notes and documentation of research. Req. #2: Bring your budget tracking form and your income and expense tracking form, if started. Req # 5: Bring printed stock exchange listings. Req. #8: Bring the time management tools you use presently, i.e. planner, calendar, or PDA to document requirement.  Req. #10: Be prepared to discuss in camp; bring the required info about your chosen field to camp

Who's Eligible: 

Boy Scouts who are at least 14 years or older by the first day of the session he is attending and a Star or Life rank.

$345 per Scout

Camperships available to all SFBAC Scouting families.  One per Scout per year are available.

Cancellation Policy
Program and Camp Refund Policy FOR ALL CAMPS AND EVENTS. Effective September 4, 2012. A great deal of advance planning and advance purchasing takes place for all programs and events of the San Francisco Bay Area Council during the months and weeks prior to an event, (facility rentals, supplies, staff hiring, food contracting, and program material acquisition.) Because of this the SFBAC has had to renew its refund policy. 1. Refunds requested two weeks (14 days) prior to an event/camp may receive up to an 80% refund. One week prior (7 days) to your event/camp receive a 60% refund. Within seven (7) days of the event/camp there will be no refund. Any refund will be based on the following criteria: 2. Types of refunds considered: serious illness or injury (a doctors certification required) or death in immediate family. Refunds are not given for no-shows, conflict of schedule (such as sports events, out of country trips), weather conditions, or behavior issues occurring before or during the event/camp. No requests accepted after September 1st. 3. Refunds will be returned to the person(s) or entity from which the funds were received. Refund requests should be sent to: San Francisco Bay Area Council, 1001 Davis Street, San Leandro CA 94577. Please include: participants name, unit, number, district, address, contact phone number, name of event and date or session of event.
