Cub Scout STEM Days - Swing!
This event is open to all Boys and Girls from ages 6-10 (grades 1st through 5th).
STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
What is it: If you are looking for a quality STEM related experience for your youth this is the place for you! So come join us for this exciting new event Cub Scout STEM Days in partnership with Engineering for Kids! We will be running multiple Cub Scout STEM Days for grades 1st through 5th both Cub Scouts and non-registered youth. Each one of the Cub Scout STEM Days will be divided into a morning and an afternoon session. You will have the opportunity to attend either session to potentially earn the entire Cub Scout STEM NOVA Award for Science (Science Everywhere), Technology (Tech Talk), or Engineering (Swing!) depending on the day the youth attends.
What do clocks, see-saws and knees have in common? They are all LEVERS! Come explore the world of levers and simple machines! Use Math, Science and the Engineering Design Process to solve real world engineering problems. Motor Away with the Tigers and Wolves, Build with the Bears and Engineer with the Webelos! Pay attention and you could be the one who designs the next engineering marvel! Could you design an elevator that could make it into outer space? Could you be the one to invent a quicker way to dig tunnels starting with the engineering you will be doing with us? We look forward to seeing you at our STEM Engineering event!
This event will be following the new Engineering requirements of the Cub Scout STEM NOVA Award as well as the new Cub Scout Adventures that became available earlier this year. To see a list of the STEM requirements for this and other events: click here!
